Lost Souls .

So theres this new lounge downtown at Lost Souls Cafe off 4th street on Monday nights. I had the privlage of being invited out last week to perform a few songs. The vibe there is super d o p e. Its intimate and real artsy [artsy: adj. - a term i hate but still use from time to time] lol .. the food & drinks are tre magnifique. Its open mic so anyone can come & sign up. Ill be there every week as a feature so come out & hang wif mee ! --> heres a little tid bit of last monday night ..

D.Rouge vs. La Roux

Landed back in LA from a trip to Vegas for a show last month and a whole group of people behind me were whispering and asking each other if I was La Roux. They were so sure of their star sighting too !! It's hilarious yet annoying to me that this woman & I have similar fashion sense, similar names, both have short funky hair & are both in the music industry. Anyone who knows me knows I would wear this exact outfit on a Monday afternoon just for the hell of it. lol .. Now, if we made similar music there would be a problem. Nothing I could rly do about that problem at the moment but blog about it, but there would definitely be one! (hehe) .. For now, all I can do is wish her the best & keep being me.

What is a 'bad bitch' ?

• 1. Is it the one you see walking down Melrose Ave in her $75 20inch weave and her lipgloss poppin knowin damn well she should be out looking for a job to move out of her mama's house ? THAS A BAAAD BiTCH! .. Is it the one with the jeans that are two sizes too tight and clothing cut to show as much of her body possible that quit school to showcase her assets in the hottest music videos? THAS A BAAAD BiTCH! .. Is it the one that wakes up an hour early to alot herself the time to paint on her MAC make-up to cover her insecurities for the day? THAS A BAAAD BiTCH! Is it the one that you see out at the club every monday, tuesday, thursday & friday night? Shes such the socialite but not so much the responsible one.

• 2.Is it the w o m a n that wakes up just in time to make herself pretty & presentable for work because she was up so late working the day before ? Is it that w o m a n thats driving in her middle class car on the way to her job that allows her to pay for that car & the rent on her apartment? Is it the w o m a n that expresses her fashion sense & sexiness through regular clothing, enjoys the little things in life & prays to God to deal with her insecurities ?

Its sad that a r e a l woman gets zero recognition these days.

If your idea of a 'bad bitch' is in paragraph #1 than I'd much rather be the woman in paragraph #2.

All about location;

Soooo, I've officially moved to the beautiful disaster of downtown LA . It's amazingly imperfect & I love every second of it. From the crazy downtown locals & smoggy air to the traffic filled streets & diligent workers. It may be a mess to some people, but to me its h o m e. Everything about this new chapter of life is God sent. Our new apartment is beyond amazing and everything I need is walking distance. With my fashion line 'Bullets & Bows' getting ready to go into manufacturing and my music career picking up, the convenience level of this location is exceeding anything I've ever imagined. I cant express in words how beyond content I am with life;  m o t i v a t e d . inspired . enthused . stimulated .

-->The one thing that does sadden my heart is the amount of homeless people that occupy DTLA, and the more fortunate people who just ignore them like they are simply dirt on the sidewalk. If you choose not to give them any spare change that is your choice, but blaitently ignoring them is just rude. They are human just like the rest of us. Us as a societly have lost all sense of compassion. Yes, I believe that some of these people could work harder & potentially get out of the streets but who are we to hold that against them without knowing their life story. I could go a lot deeper into this topic but I'll simply leave it at that.

just a few words of encouragement: you are above your circumstances. don't disqualify yourself. trust in God without doubt & he will shed his grace upon you. Don't be afraid to make changes in your life to progress. Sometimes you have to let go of certain things to gain others. Surround yourself with l o v e and you will live happily. Don't magnify the problem, magnify the problem solver. God works in crazy ways. Nothing is coincidence. Evertything happens for a reason. Timing is everything & patience is key.
