the mis-hap of a fashion show .

December 10th."Meeting of the Minds"fashion show review:

December 10, 2010 - 10:30pm : After weeks of preparation, hard earned money sweat & tears put into designs from every designer, hours of hair/makeup& styling models ; were all standing backstage taking each breath with excitement & anticipation for all our hard work to finally be showcased for all who came to support our movement that evening. Looking around at all my fellow designers and how much weve all grown as individuals in this fashion industry I was in awe. At this point everything was going perfectly and the joy that filled the room is one that cannot be described in words. . .

December 10, 2010 - 11:00pm : SHOWTIME ! the music starts .. the stunning miss Star Brown prepares herself to kick off the show in her BLOWD attire while everyone cheers her on waiting for their turn to rock the amazing runway ahead, completely unaware of what was to come next. What was supposed to be a 2 min time slot turned into 3 min , which then turned into 5 min of a model on the runway changing into another look which resulted in the cancellation of the remainder of the show.

Opinion : Never mind that the first designer went over his allotted time, now one of his models is changing clothes on the runway of one of the nicest upscale clubs in LA. This show was about showcasing EACH designer and the progress we've made. Regardless of if your line opened the show, was 5th in line or was dead last, there was a criteria to be followed. Apparently the first designer didn't feel like it applied to them and ruined it for the rest of us. Now, I know it wasnt intentional to have the show shut down, but there were some choices made that were not the smartest. Everyone makes mistakes, yes. But now the issue is the arrogance after the fact. Nobody else got to fullfill their evening yet you insist on posting the pictures of your models on the runway everyone else looked foreward to walking on. This particular person knows I have nothing but love for him and his designs, but he crossed the line & now upset everyone. He should have stepped his game up and made better decisions point blank. I hope we all learned from this experience. At this point we can only move on. Forgive & forget .

The show must go on.
